Mountain Safety Collective (MSC) relies in large part on our public membership program to sustain our professional backcountry conditions reports and related initiatives for Australian backcountry users. As a not-for-profit association, every new and renewing MSC member fee helps keep observation and forecasting teams in the Victoria and New South Wales mountains.
When you sign up through the membership drive period, you receive benefits like an on-demand member-pack, 35% off MSC merchandise, exclusive access to MSC maps and guides and discounts from key sponsors.
In 2025, new and existing MSC members go into the draw for monthly prizes from our generous supporters with winners drawn in June. July and August. More prizes will be added in coming weeks, so check back for more details.

For 44 years now, Wild has been telling the inspirational stories of the Australian adventure community. And from the very beginning, backcountry snow sports have been at the heart of the magazine; back in 1981 when the mag was launched, the very first cover was of a backcountry skier. But our stories are not just cracking tales; they are crafted, well-written pieces unlike anything you’ll find on the internet. The imagery is amazing, too. Wild: Adventure. Conservation. Wilderness.
