CENTRAL EAST VIC:
RECENT OBSERVATIONS
Updated: 14TH / AUGUST /2018

REPORT CONFIDENCE: STRONG
CURRENT UNTIL: 17th / AUGUST/ 2018

OBSERVATION SUMMARY

TREND: IMPROVING / ONGOING / DETERIORATING

Front Range: Buller / Stirling / BUFFALO

Wow, some absolutely killer conditions over the last 48hrs. Now its crusted over pretty hard but there is more snow on the horizon... well not literally but within the next 48hrs. Full blizzard and plenty of atmosphere with it so vis will be complete pea soup. Stick to the trees and or stay low... its gonna be super cold with the windchill in the -12˚ for most of Wednesday.

BACK Range: Magdala / Howitt / Viking  & Cobbler

We are about to overhaul the entire site given the consistency in field obs between what we will be calling the front and back ranges. For these areas see below, its will be more relevant.

ExTENDED OUTLOOK

Wednesday will be 'Game On' again. This is Mid winter conditions, and as we roll in with 15cm 'On the stakes', then everyone needs to be making smart decisions on terrain choice because, 15cm on the stakes is 40cm on the drift (and more on the cornice), and a 40cm crown wall that propagates 20mx20m is enough to end your day. Stay vigilant folks...

Always, a big thanks to everyone who is helping make this possible through our membership kickstart and through our merchandise drive.
