NORTH EAST VIC:
RECENT OBSERVATIONS
UPDATED: 25th / AUGUST /2018

REPORT CONFIDENCE: STRONG
CURRENT UNTIL: 28TH / AUGUST/ 2018

OBSERVATION SUMMARY

TREND: IMPROVING / ONGOING / DETERIORATING

CURRENT OBSERVATION:

Contrary to our last outlook the snowpack up high has stayed cold and dry.  The sheltered shaded and higher aspects are skiing / riding nicely at the moment.

OUTLOOK: we have that large front approaching currently off the bight. It's not bringing much moisture or will have run its course by the time it arrives in the alps. Rain on its way Sunday midday.

Primary Hazard

Other Hazards:
With this 2m snowpack we are urging and reminding people to be careful and stay clear of some of the large cornices. Also watch out on the creek crossings as there's some 'closed over' areas that are only thin, concealing large deep creek holes.
