TREND: IMPROVING / ONGOING / DETERIORATING
With a little bit of dense wet snow accumulating up high, strangely in a northerly deposition pattern, the result of moisture from the ECL mixing with the wedge of cold air coming in on a weak cold front. There's more snow forecast here but its warm compared to what we have seen lately. Just for the record the crust which is now buried on south through to east aspects had significant facet growth and thats a mild concern to be locking that away in the snow pack, particularly under warm wet snow, which will promote this growth. Check it out... let us know.
Looks like NSW will dodge the worst of the weather due further south over the next 48hrs and with a little bit more snow but without the strong winds it is going to 'fill in' the scours, sastrugi and ideally settle on some of the shield and rime ice. Things are looking up for early next week in the backcountry. Another front due in around Wednesday night and we will get eyes on that by Friday so for now... as biggie says 'Its all good' for the first week of June!
