Regional observations
With 10-20cm of new snow falling over the weekend conditions have improved from last week. We are set for another week of melt / freeze conditions as no precipitation is on the forecast anytime soon. The snow on Sunday in the backcountry was tricky to ski, PM skiing saw the snow become “sticky”.
Some observations from the field.
10-20 cm of loading lee to the South West.
Moderate hand sear results from 1700m to 1900m.
CTE1 SP @6cm on the interface of Wind slab and Storm slab from the June 29th event. The new snow that fell on June 29th has bonded well to the melt freeze surface it fell on.
HS of the snowpack is 47cm.
Regional Outlook
IMPROVING / ONGOING / DETERIORATING
With sunny days in the immediate future we will see the new snow that fell on the 29th June deteriorate due to melt / freeze cycles. There should be some OK backcountry conditions early week if night temperatures stay low.
