A quick few notes on the reporting standard we are using for this hazard.

This is pure observation skills here. Based on your most recent patrol / tour, review the roses in the gallery and select it in the 'Results Form'. Super easy for once huh?

STAB ASSESSMENT:
ICE & RIME HAZARD REPORT

RIME

We all know this stuff: Rime will be super hard water ice, usually found on windward aspects of terrain features and on the surface as shields and or mixed with sastrugi. Prevailing after periods of precipitation although it can persist for weeks if no warming occurs. We are only displaying warnings for it above the tree line as this is where the 'slide for life' hazard has potential to really cause damage.

FREEZE THAW ICE

This one is easy enough to forecast for yet if we are missing something in aspect or altitude then please let us know what you found. Using 8am as a basis for observations on this one... the time most people start moving in the mountains.
