The following candidates are standing in the MSC Committee election for a two year term running from 2026-2028. If you’d like to vote for them, please join the Annual General Meeting or nominate a proxy on Wednesday 21 October 2026. MSC Members will have received an email invitation to register for the AGM.
Coralie and Sam are re-standing in their existing MSC Committee Roles for a third two-year term, while Paul Hardy and Paul Ellis are standing for the first time to fill the role of MSC Secretary.
Returning Candidate: Coralie Reich (MSC Treasurer)
Coralie is a scientist that loves getting out in the field. A skier from Victoria and all round general outdoor enthusiast (climb, bike, hike - just to name a few) she has years of resort skiing that have transitioned in the last few years to venturing beyond the boundaries and exploring the backcountry.
Coralie comes to the role of Treasurer from a data management background and is re-standing for a third two-year term.
Returning Candidate: Sam Robinson (MSC Fundraising Manager)
A passionate backcountry skier, Sam has a leadership background in the retail and resort communities alongside experience in fundraising, membership and technology. He’s worked as the Transformation Lead at Wesfarmers, Head of Sales for Amazon Marketplace, Commercial Operations Manager at Hotham and leading sales for Arcteryx, Salomon and Atomic.
Sam is re-standing for a third two-year term as MSC’s Fundraising Manager.
New Candidate: Paul Hardy
Paul loves how being in the backcountry is another extension of being outside. Over the last few years, his life in the outdoors has grown into a passion for trail running and the alpine, and he’s spent a lot of time exploring across Australia and New Zealand.
Professionally he works for Parks Australia and oversees drone operations in some of Australia's most remote areas. He is also on the Board of the Australian Association for Uncrewed Systems, so has experience in the governance, administration, and financial aspects of running a membership organisation.
He would also seek to use this experience to explore and support MSC's interaction with Government agencies, where supported by the members.
He’s interested in supporting the Mountain Safety Collective as a Secretary because he believes in the role that MSC has to play at the centre of outdoor safety in Australia. He cares about making the things that he enjoys safer for others and would love to contribute and to be a part of the MSC community.
New Candidate: Paul Ellis
After seasons working in the US, Australia and Japan, as well as expeditions to the mountains of Central Asia, Paul started what was to become Whiteroom Tours in 2007 with an idea to create a website around helping those venturing into the backcountry around the world. Backcountry Logistics was created and soon born Backcountry Snow Tours, which had tours planned for Pakistan, Gulmarg and Furano, Japan. In 2007 the first tour was run to Furano.
In 2010 he founded Whiteroom Tours with the aim showing more people the areas in Hokkaido he came to love. Today Whiteroom Tours has grown into a Travel Agency, Tour Operator, Guiding, Instruction and BC Rental Company with bases in Niseko, Furano and Tohoku and more than 50+ tours throughout Japan. Paul holds his CAA Avalanche Level 1 Professional and Wilderness First Aid certificate.
