Terrain and travel advice
Caution in the alpine due to icy surface conditions. Look to solar aspects for softer conditions as the day warms up.

In the subalpine there is still a very shallow snowpack, but its enough coverage to get you up into the alpine.

Don’t forget your sunscreen!

Daily Discussion
In the subalpine the snowpack is shallow and mostly supportive. Early season conditions persist.

In the alpine, surface conditions are icy. Looked for sheltered lees for possible pockets of softer snow from this past week’s flurries.

Bluebird day today for the shortest day of the year.

Confidence: STRONG

We need your eyes too. If you’ve been touring in the Alpine National Park we’d love to know what you have seen. Every little bit helps.
