Regional Outlook:
There was lots of snow, and then there was none. For the central regional Victorians who want to get a slide in this weekend the only place on the front range to enjoy coverage is high on Mt Stirling. It will be a good leg stretch to get up to the snow. Travel is restricted to the established trails. And the cover is marginal. This report will act as a place holder until the conditions improve. Mt Buffalo missed the lot and Baw Baw was swamped in the rain on Wednesday night. Perhaps head to the Divide.

Daily Discussion
The the tail end of the ‘Beast of the East’ storm sent a 80km wide rain band east across the range extending from Bairnsdale to Marysville. This wreaked havoc on what would have been a good base builder for Baw Baw and Stirling. Another system is due to arrive late next week, lets hope it brings the ‘season starter’ snowfall, and leaves in place this time.

Confidence: STRONG

We need your eyes too. If you’ve been touring in the Alpine National Park we’d love to know what you have seen. Every little bit helps.
